Franchise Guidelines

Last updated April 22, 2025

The goal of the WhoYaGonnaCall.org Franchise Guidelines is to define what is a franchise, and to establish a culture of professional, courteous, respectful, and inclusive teams. We use this criteria when determining which franchises are added to the directory in order to ensure to the general public that these busters make us feel good.

What is a Franchise?

1. A franchise is a team of more than one Ghostbusters cosplayers.

1.1 An exception to this rule is for a single Ghostbusters cosplayer whose team is still forming. They must be open to adding new members.

1.2 Teams with more than one member do not need to be open to adding more members.

2. A franchise covers one reasonable geographical region.

2.1 A good rule of thumb is that if it takes over 12 hours to drive to a location, it is not reasonably within one franchise's purview.

3. A franchise has unified under one team name and one primary logo.

3.1 Franchise names must not be insulting to another franchise or inappropriate (ex. The Screw You Circle City Ghostbusters).

3.2 Franchise logos must not be insulting to another franchise or inappropriate (ex. A Mooglie giving the middle finger).

4. A franchise must be active.

4.1 Active is defined as having made an appearance at a public event during the last calendar year.

4.2 An exception to this rule is for new franchises, which may state their intention to be active in the current calendar year.

4.3 An exception to this rule is for franchises who have faced some hardship (loss of family, health, etc.) that let the admin team know of said hardship (specifics are not necessary) that also state their intention to be active once the hardship is over.
